First the announcements: We are close to an arrangement to publish electronically, in multiple formats (PDF, epub, and possibly others). We will have more details on that front to announce next month. And: unless we have a stoke of luck, the next issue, May, is going to be late. We cannot find an agreeable time in the first half of April to meet and produce an issue. If we had had sufficient inventory, we would have doubled up issues this March weekend (we’ve done that many times), but our stock of reviews and essays is low right now. So send ’em if you’ve got ’em!
And: we are chugging along with the storage and recycling of back issues, another twenty cartons to recycling this week. We have a number of readers/subscribers who have taken us up on our bulk back issue discounts—I remind you that $20 gets you 40 issues and $40 gets you 80, our choice.
Finally, we need volunteer labor in the NYC vicinity. We have weekly meetings in NYC for clerical work, stuffing envelopes, sending out review copies, and so forth. And of course we have our monthly meeting in Pleasantville to produce issues. We offer unusual conversation and esoteric information. Contact us if this is your thing.
The Dragon Press bookstore is open most weekends and occasionally or by appointment on weekdays in Westport, New York. We have organized a good general stock, and are especially strong in fantasy and sf. We encourage visitors, particularly ones who want books. There are other bookstores nearby, many of them open on odd schedules or by appointment. We are going to try to get together a local list.
By the time you read this various of us will have attended the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts in Orlando, and maybe even solicited a review or essay from you—do keeps us in mind. I hope also to be at Ad Astra in Toronto in mid-April.
